Upon the question about the increase in drug prices, Minister Koca stated, "What is done to drug prices is the exchange rate update. There was an exchange rate update once a year. We have a practice of 60 percent of the previous year's rate. However, we have decided to update it every 6 months for the last two years in order to protect our domestic manufacturers and to avoid problems in drug supply. Therefore, we updated the Turkish lira equivalent of the euro exchange rate to 10.75 in January. We have now updated the Turkish lira exchange rate of euro equivalent to 14.1. We accept the euro as 14.1 liras when buying drugs. As you know, the euro exchange rate is currently in 30s in the real sector.”

"We have enough vaccines in stock"

Being reminded the allegations that the hepatitis A vaccine is not in stock, Koca stated:

"This is absolutely not true. There are 200 thousand vaccines in our stocks. In addition, 400 thousand vaccines will enter our warehouses. As you know, we will transfer technology to localized three vaccines. One of these three vaccines is Hepatitis A vaccine. Apart from the vaccines to be produced in Hıfzıssıhha, three new manufacturing centers will be established for three vaccines through technology transfer. Chickenpox, rabies and hepatitis A will be localized through this method. We are so close to this stage. We have enough vaccines in stock until then. There is no problem regarding this. There is no need to worry.”
