The treatment of 61 Gazan patients brought to Türkiye will be carried out in Bilkent City Hospital and Etlik City Hospital

61 patients and 49 more companions, who were transferred to Egypt from Gaza, where Israeli attacks continue, were brought to Türkiye for treatment by a plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defense.

Welcoming the patients at the airport, Minister Koca made statements to members of the press.

Reminding that 27 patients and 13 companions were brought to Türkiye in the first group, thanks to the intense work of the health coordination team formed between Türkiye, Israel and Egypt, Koca stated that the treatment of the patients continues in Bilkent City Hospital.

Stating that 61 patients and 49 companions, most of whom have cancer, were brought from Egypt to Ankara today, Minister Koca thanked all the internal and external partners who contributed during this process. Minister of Health Koca continued as follows:

“The treatment of our guests from Gaza will be provided in Ankara Bilkent City Hospital and Etlik City Hospital. The days we live in are the most painful days history has ever witnessed. We are going through days in which voices are lowered, eyes are kept closed to avoid seeing, and everyone literally watches what is happening in cold blood. I think that, even if they are very small, the steps we have taken contribute to the protection of human dignity. It was extremely important to treat the babies, children and patients with cancer in our country.”

"The activities will begin for the field hospital"

Minister Koca stated that he had a phone meeting with the Health Minister of Egypt last night and the Health Minister of Israel today and added:

"We had a discussion with both of them about the activities of the health coordination team established between Türkiye, Israel and Egypt. I told the Minister of Health of Israel that we were making great efforts to bring especially the babies and children to Türkiye for treatment, that we were planning a new evacuation within a day or two, and that we would be pleased with a close coordination on this issue.

I also stated that Türkiye was considering establishing a field hospital in a secure area within Gaza in the near future, that this hospital would provide healthcare services to everyone regardless of their ethnic origin, and that the health coordination team would make a field visit and find a suitable location. In response, the Minister stated that they were open to all kinds of coordination and cooperation for the evacuation of the children and babies, and that they would approve an on-site evaluation by the health coordination team regarding the location of the field hospital to be established by Türkiye in a secure area in Gaza."

"The condition of 8 of the patients is critical"

Emphasizing that they would maintain their health diplomacy activities within the framework of Türkiye's entrepreneurial and humanitarian foreign policy under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Koca stated that they will continue to support the oppressed and those in need, regardless of their ethnicity, language or religion.

Stating that a group of babies, children and wounded people would be evacuated in the coming days, Koca said that they agreed with the health ministers of Egypt and Israel on the establishment of field hospitals.

Minister Koca also stated that the condition of 8 of the patients brought today was critical and that they would be followed up.
