Starting from tomorrow, we will try to do much more, much better

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca shared the video on his social media account, which includes the activities carried out regarding health and the services provided this year, with the words: "2023 in healthcare services. Starting from tomorrow, we will try to do much more, much better."

In the video, which includes the number of examinations, surgeries and emergency service applications in all branches of hospitals, as well as the hospitals and hospital departments opened during the year, it is stated that 1679 patients were transported by air ambulances and 2 thousand 695 patients were transported by helicopter ambulances.

In the video, it was noted that a total of 5 thousand 84 organ transplants were carried out this year, including 3 thousand 399 kidneys, 1630 livers, 39 hearts, 15 lungs and 1 small intestine, and it was stated that the number of personnel increased in all branches and 79 thousand 400 people joined to work in the healthcare services in 2023.

Services in the earthquake-affected areas

The figures regarding the services provided after the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş were also shared in the video.

Accordingly, 138 thousand 190 healthcare workers worked in the earthquake-affected areas, and 590 thousand 468 patients and injured were treated in the field hospitals and emergency response units.

Healthcare services for Gazans

In the video, which also includes the activities of the Ministry of Health regarding the wounded taken out of Gaza under Israeli attacks, it is stated that the Ministry sent 20 ambulances and 2 UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team) vehicles, and medical supplies and devices by 15 planes and 1 ship.

It was also stated in the video that a total of 533 Gazans including 292 patients and 241 companions, were brought to Türkiye for treatment, and a fully equipped field hospital, generators, basic living supplies and medicine were sent to the region, too.
