Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Emine Alp Meşe attended the Integrated Health Care Conference in Ankara.
“Integrated Health Care Provision” organized by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the World Bank by using the Japanese grant brought together representatives of many countries including World Bank Regional Director Fadia Saadah.
“This search for paradigm shifts resulted in integrated health care provision models. Furthermore, the World Health Organization (WHO) made a call for basic paradigm shift, in the ‘Human-Centered and Integrated Health Services Global Strategy 2015’ for financing, management and provision of healthcare services. Community-based and user-focused integrated healthcare services provide more effective, qualified and cost-effective services, and have a great potential to create value.” said Prof. Dr. Alp Meşe pointing to the parading search of many countries in an attempt to fulfil the arising needs instead of the conventional health provision models.
Turkey initiated health reforms in 2003 in order to ensure effective, productive and equal organization, financing and provision of healthcare services. One of the main components of this reform process was “strengthened basic health services and family medicine”, which brought about establishment of the family medicine system countrywide in 2010.
Integrated Health Care Project aims to facilitate integration of primary healthcare services and effective use of primary healthcare services, and it is put into practice gradually to create the desired health behaviors and habitudes.
