Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca, held a video conference with health directors of 81 provinces.
The parties discussed COVID-19 related efforts at the provincial level during the meeting that started at 10:30 P.M. and lasted for 3 hours. Conditions of patients, treatment protocols, intensive care occupancy rates and needs were evaluated.
Minister Koca underlined the importance of rapid screening of the contacts of confirmed cases. "If we cannot isolate contacts at this period, we will not have any chance to contain the disease", said Koca and reminded everyone that they could not afford to have any delays in diagnosis and treatment.
"Masks and protective equipment should never be a problem for healthcare workers. Let's do our best to increase our capacity, how to make better use of intensive care beds, and monitor a high-risk patient under intensive care conditions every day", said Koca and received questions from provincial health directors.
