The Deputy Minister of Health Assoc. Prof. Tolga Tolunay met with Zaur Aliyev, President of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Institution of Azerbaijan, Dr. Vugar Gurbanov, President of TABIB, and the delegation.
Deputy Minister Tolunay expressed his satisfaction with welcoming his Azerbaijani brothers to the meeting, where new decisions were taken on enhancing the existing cooperation between the two countries.
Referring to the pandemic response, Deputy Minister Tolunay noted the following:
“As you know, we have been fighting the pandemic since the beginning of last year. This has been an important test of the health systems and capacities of countries. It has also tested solidarity.
Our brotherly country Azerbaijan, on the one hand, dealt with the coronavirus pandemic, and on the other, fought for its homeland in Karabakh under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Solidarity and cooperation between our countries during both the coronavirus pandemic and the fight in the homeland in Karabakh set an example for the world. On this occasion, I wish mercy from Allah to our brothers and sisters who have died in the liberation of Karabakh, and speedy recovery for the injured."
