Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Emine Alp Meşe went to Copenhagen on 4-5 February 2019 to attend Cooperation Strengthening Program with WHO Regional Office for Europe.
Following the briefing of WHO Migration and Health Coordinator Mr. Santino Severoni and his team, Prof. Mese held consultations regarding the joint activities for migrants’ health in particular health of the Syrians.
During the meeting, joint activities on strengthening “Control and Prevention of Tobacco Use” program were discussed.
Furthermore, the parties agreed on strengthening cooperation for preventing childhood obesity, decreasing the rate of C-sections, promoting normal delivery as well as mental health and healthy ageing.
In a working dinner held with WHO Regional Director for Europe Dr. Zsuzanna Jakab, Prof. Mese provided information about vision of Turkey for WHO relations.
Deputy Minister also attended the meeting on Implementation of Fundamental Components of National-Level Infection Prevention and Control Programs, and shared her experiences and recommendations.
