Undersecretary Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş provided information about the Bilkent City Hospital – the biggest health campus project of Europe completed with PPP model.
Visiting the hospital with the accompanying delegation and the journalists, Prof. Dr. Gümüş stated that they initiated the acceptance procedures for Bilkent City Hospital.
The procedures would be completed within 1-2 months according to statement of Prof. Gümüş: “The hospital has 3 thousands 700 beds and a clinical hotel of around 100 beds. We have developed the concept of clinical hotel for accommodation of the patient relatives. The campus consists of 6 towers, that is to say 6 hospitals – General Hospital with 600 beds, Orthopedics and Neurology Hospital, Cardiovascular Surgery Hospital, Oncology Hospital, Pediatric Hospitals and Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital. It has a very modern structure, with large capacity. Two free parking lots were planned for each bed. We are furnishing high-tech medical equipment.”
Support for medical tourism
Prof. Gümüş said that international patient services will also be provided at the city hospitals and around 300 beds were designed for international patient services at Bilkent City Hospital.
Qualified clinics will be transferred to City Hospitals
Prof. Gümüş said that some hospitals of Ankara will be transferred to Bilkent City Hospital and added that “We are planning to transfer outstanding clinics of the universities. For example, if there is a good clinic at Hacettepe University, we will plan to transfer it here. At the moment, we are working on Ankara Numune Hospital, Zekai Tahir Burak Hospital, Sami Ulus Pediatric Hospital, Yüksek İhtisas Hospital and Ulucanlar Eye Hospital. We may also make transfers from the private sector. In this regard, we will organize a meeting with the rectors. We will complete all these within a month.”
City hospitals are in A-Plus category
Prof. Gümüş stated that the hospitals are evaluated under four categories and the city hospitals are included in the highest – A-Plus – category, which are reference hospitals equipped with everything required.
