Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca visited the Health Sciences University Ibn-i Sina Faculty opened in Bukhara under coordination of Turkey and Uzbekistan.
“Ibn-i Sina Medical Faculty and Vocational School will further develop the cooperation in the field of health, and also enable transfer of the modern medical training and allied healthcare services model successfully implemented in Turkey to Uzbekistan” said Dr. Koca in his speech.
Clinical trainings to be provided in Turkey
“There are 75 students at the Medical Faculty and 54 students at the Vocational School of Health Services – 132 students in total. The basic training of the first 3 years will be provided at Ibn-I Sina Medical Faculty in Bukhara while the clinical trainings of the subsequent three years will be provided at the training and research hospitals affiliated to Health Sciences University in Turkey” added Minister Koca.
The language of the education will be Turkish and Uzbek, and starting from the next year, the University will accept students from Central Asia and Turkic Republics.
Upon graduation, students of this Medical Faculty will also have the diploma of the Health Sciences University in Turkey. Furthermore, students take Turkish language classes 10 hours a week.
During the ceremony, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca and Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Emine Alp Meşe were awarded the title of Honorary Professor.
