On his social media account, Minister Koca stated that he had a meeting with Egyptian Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar regarding the Gazans who cannot access healthcare services due to Israeli attacks.

Stating that they agreed on many important issues during the meeting, Minister Koca said:

“We are continuing our efforts to bring about 1,000 patients and injured in urgent need of treatment, including cancer patients receiving treatment at the Türkiye-Palestine Friendship Hospital in Gaza, which had to end its activities amid the recent conflict, to Egypt via the Rafah Border Crossing.” Then, we plan to transfer cancer patients and those in urgent condition to our country via ambulance planes and a ship hospital.”

“It is a great blessing for humanity to be able to heal the sick and injured in Gaza.”

Minister Koca announced that they reached an agreement with Minister Ghaffar to plan and carry out the necessary work for this vital development.

Stating that Minister Ghaffar shared another important information during the meeting, Koca said:

Two Turkish ships that are currently in the Turkish territorial waters and ready for deployment at any time for the shipment of field hospitals and ambulances to Egypt have been given permission to enter the Egyptian ports.

It has strengthened our belief that this close and unforgettable cooperation that we have established with the Minister for the treatment of our Gazan brothers and sisters will also enhance the existing cooperation between Egypt and Türkiye in the field of health. Being able to heal the sick and injured in Gaza is a great blessing for humanity.”
