
State officials led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Anıtkabir on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Cevdet Yılmaz, Vice President, Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health, Mehmet Akarca, President of the Court of Cassation, Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Justice and Zühtü Arslan, President of the Constitutional Court were also present in the program.
After President Erdoğan laid a wreath with a crescent and a star on it at Atatürk's mausoleum, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung.
Then, President Erdoğan went to the National Pact Tower and signed the Anıtkabir Special Notebook and read the text he wrote in the notebook. Erdoğan included the following statements:
"Dear Atatürk, we are experiencing the pride and joy of reaching the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, which you call 'my greatest work' as a nation.
At this important turning point in our history, we once again remember your excellency, your comrades in arms, and our beloved martyrs and veterans with mercy. We tried to protect your trust properly during our 21-year rule, every moment of which was spent serving our country and nation.
As an administration that brought Türkiye together with the biggest investment moves in its history, we are determined to crown the second century of our Republic with the ‘Century of Türkiye’, together with our alliance partners and our nation.
Our Republic is safer than ever before, in safe and competent hands. May your soul rest in peace. Happy 100th anniversary of our Republic."
Afterwards, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accepted Republic Day congratulations at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day and the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic.
