
Aiming to promote international health services in Kayseri, the Health Tourism Workshop was held on 28-29 June 2019.
Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Emine Alp Meşe delivered the opening speech of the workshop organized in cooperation with Governorate of Kayseri, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, International Health Services Inc. (USHAŞ), Chamber of Commerce of Kayseri, Erciyes University and Anatolian Health Tourism Association.
“Not only Turkish citizens but also foreign nationals prefer Turkey to receive high-quality health services especially from Azerbaijan, Iraq and Germany. Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Izmir, Erzurum and Yalova are the most preferred cities for treatment, as they are both tourist destinations and host private hospital groups. Health-related tourism income was $ 1 million 110 thousand 843 in 2018 and 551 thousands 748 patients received health services in Turkey in 2018” said Deputy Minister.
Kayseri hosts one of the most comprehensive city hospitals of Turkey, and it will become a center of attraction for health tourism together with the university hospitals and private hospitals.
On the second day of the workshop, participants exchanged their opinions on destination image and branding potential of Kayseri.
