In his post on his social media account, Minister Koca emphasized that respiratory diseases are now very common because of the season and said, “The common cold is most widespread. With the onset of cold weather, the time we spend indoors increases, so the common cold spreads faster.” Dr. Koca also shared the video of Prof. Dr. Serhat Ünal, Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Specialist at Hacettepe University, which draws attention to the prevention of transmission in these infections. “Healthy living including balanced diet, exercise, and sleep is the basic rule for protection from colds and such infections. The second important factor in protection is that a distance of one meter should be kept between people who sneeze and cough, as the virus can be transmitted from a certain distance.” Stating that people should sneeze into their elbow, Dr. Ünal warned: “Because, when shaking hands with someone else or holding the door handle after sneezing into the hand, healthy people will be infected with the virus. Hands should be washed frequently.” To see the video please visit:https://twitter.com/drfahrettinkoca/status/1744263904828510214
