President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited miners who were transferred to Çam and Sakura City Hospital in Istanbul due to injuries caused by a coal mine blast in Bartın’s Amasra district, and made a statement to the press after his visit. Reminding that 6 patients in the hospital were brought to Istanbul by ambulance plane, Erdoğan said, “5 of them are in a serious condition, but 1 of them is currently conscious. We could talk with him but did not go with the others. We only saw and watched from the outside, and doctors gave us the necessary information in detail," he said. President Erdogan continued his words as follows: “All the interventions that need to be done at the moment are performed by the relevant units. We are not hopeless. All those who have had the surgery are now in a better condition. Unfortunately, there is one patient who is intubated. Our doctors are always by their side and they do everything that needs to be done 24 hours a day. As you can see, this Çam Sakura Hospital already has all the advanced physical facilities. In addition, as brain power, our doctors are highly qualified, and everything from burn surgery to anesthesia, infection, etc., is present in this hospital. We wish very swift recovery to the injured.” During his visit, President Erdoğan was accompanied by Minister of Health Dr. Fahrettin Koca.
