In order to prevent wasting and ensure more effective use of the public resources, “Evaluation Meeting for Increasing Efficiency and Preventing Wasting” was held with the participation of provincial health directors from 81 provinces.
In his speech, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca underlined that share of the health expenditures in the gross national product became 4.5 percent.
“The burden of the health expenditures including all medicines, healthcare services, preventive medicine and city hospitals is 4.5 percent. We provide patient satisfaction with low costs. We will further strengthen our health system with the new service model and make Turkey a health tourism base in the region” added Dr. Koca.
On the other hand, Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Muhammet Güven stated that “Ministry of Health is a very big institution. Provincial organization of the Ministry is also very large and spread, so it is essential to work in coordination to increase efficiency. For this purpose, we ask you to make studies on the site. We want you to activate the quality departments at your hospital.”
Director-General for Public Hospitals Prof. Dr. Rahmi Kılıç said that “Our health system will be more developed day by day and we will provide even more efficient and effective health services”.
