In the meeting, which was chaired by Prof Emine Alp Meşe, Deputy Minister of Health and Chair of the Health Scientific Board of the Turkic Council, the parties exchanged current information on the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Deputy Minister Meşe offered information about the cooperation and support efforts of Turkey with the members of the council with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof Hakan Turkcapar, a member of the Scientific Committee of MoH, delivered a presentation on the management of individual and community psychology during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The participants also discussed establishing a joint database among member states, vaccine development efforts, and developing online training programs for healthcare workers.
The Health Scientific Board of the Turkic Council was established as per the resolution adopted at the Leaders' Summit of the Turkic Council, which was held on April 10, 2020.
