The air ambulance belonging to the Ministry of Health, which took off from El Arish Airport in Egypt at 2 pm to bring 3 wounded Gazan children to Türkiye, landed at Ankara Esenboğa Airport.

Minister of Health Koca welcomed the children and their companions brought to Ankara for treatment at Esenboğa Airport. Koca met with the paramedics on the plane and took care of the wounded children, and then accompanied the process of taking the children into the ambulances.

Two girls and one boy were brought

In his statement to the press, Minister Koca said that the three wounded children were outside the group of 50 people, who he had previously announced were evacuated.
Stating that three children were brought to Türkiye through the Rafah Border Gate, Koca shared the following information about the situation of the children:

"A 2-year-old boy, and two girls aged 9 and 10 were brought. The boy has a vascular occlusion of liver origin called 'deep vein thrombosis'. His mother stated that he has had the disease for 4 months. We will be closely planning his treatment.

One of the children was amputated above the knee after developing crush syndrome following trauma and destruction. Infection treatment and then a prosthesis will be provided. The other child has closed fractures, burns, and shrapnel in their body, after trauma and destruction. Their treatment will also be planned soon.”

Minister Koca informed that the wounded children will be treated in Etlik City Hospital.

"We expect the third evacuation to occur tomorrow"

To the question regarding the establishment of field hospitals for the wounded from Gaza, Koca replied, "A coordination team consisting of Israel, Egypt and Türkiye is in Egypt, especially to conduct a field research. We are in the process of determining the location. We want to take action on this issue as soon as possible in the new period."
In response to another question, Koca stated that the coordination team was working regarding the 50 people planned to be brought from Gaza, that there were some problems concerning the companions, that the problem with 11 people, including the companions, had been resolved, and that activities were continuing on the permits of the other people to be evacuated.

Regarding the next evacuation, Koca said, "We expect the third evacuation to occur tomorrow and it will be an evacuation consisting mainly of children and young people."

Regarding the health profile of those involved in this evacuation, Minister Koca said, "There will be an evacuation consisting of fewer cancer patients, but mainly wounded children and young people. There is currently no patient needing intensive care on the list."

Reminding that there are patients from Gaza who are currently receiving treatment in Ankara, Koca said, "We know that we have 88 patients here. 7 of these 88 patients were in intensive care. Currently, 2 more patients are out of intensive care and 5 of them are in intensive care. None of the patients in intensive care are intubated. Their conditions are not critical but we are still monitoring them closely.”
