Unfortunately, oral and dental diseases are among the most important health problems in the world and in our country. Undoubtedly, the first reason for this fact is that people think their oral and dental health problems do not directly threaten their lives. This thought causes people to ignore and postpone their oral and dental problems. However, regular dentist visits enable oral and dental health problems to be diagnosed early, prevented from progressing, and treated at an early stage. Thus, oral and dental health problems can be prevented. Based on this information; we care about raising public awareness about oral and dental health, and we aim to create a healthy society by ensuring that individuals make oral and dental care a habit from a very young age. We continue to make major investments in the field of oral and dental health within the scope of the health transformation program we put into practice. Thus, we aim to increase accessibility to treatment services for oral and dental health. With the Family Dentistry model that we put into practice in the pilot provinces of Eskişehir, Karabük and Kırşehir in 2022, we have created a practice model that will set an example for similar practices in the world. We continue to work to popularize this model in our country and thus raise social awareness about oral and dental health. We celebrate November 22 as "Dentist’s Day" and the week including the same date as "Community Oral and Dental Health Week" as we do every year, in order to raise social awareness about oral and dental health and to honour the dentists who work devotedly in the light of ethical values.
