President of Iran H.E. Hasan Ruhani and the accompanying delegation came to Turkey, as the guest of the Turkish President H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in order to attend the High-Level Cooperation Council meeting. Concurrently with the fifth session of the High-Level Cooperation Council, “Agreement between the Republic of Turkey and the Islamic Republic of Iran on Cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine” was signed by Health Minister of Turkey Dr. Fahrettin Koca and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Muhammet Cevat Zarif.
Through enforcement of the Memorandum of Understanding, it will be possible to exchange experience and cooperate in the fields of health systems strengthening, health information systems and health statistics, fighting with communicable and non-communicable diseases, primary healthcare services and family medicine, universal health coverage, health sciences and health researches, hospital management and payment systems, health system, hospital accreditation, monitoring and evaluation of clinical quality, organ-tissue transplantation and blood transfusion, organization of emergency health services and cooperation during disasters, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, increasing capacity of human resources, medical tourism and short-term training for healthcare professionals. It is also targeted to exchange delegations, experts and healthcare professionals, and develop joint projects.
