On the occasion of the International Traditional and Complementary Medicine Congress (GETAT) in Istanbul, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from eight countries.
Organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), the 2nd International Traditional and Complementary Medicine (GETAT) Congress started under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, and on this occasion, the Turkish Health Minister met with Health Minister of Romania Sorina Pintea, Health Minister of Jordan Ghazi Manwar Al-Zabin, Health Minister of the Republic of Djibouti Djama Elmi Okieh, Health Minister of Mongolia Sarangerel Davaujantsan, Health Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Filiz Besimi, Health Minister of Somalia Fawziya Abikar Nur and Health Minister of Paraguay Julio Daniel Mazzoleni Insfran and Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Roman IIykile.
During the meetings, the Turkish Minister provided information about the high potential of health tourism and city hospitals as well as the achievements in the health system and importance of bilateral cooperation, which would have good results for both sides.
The guest Ministers also came together for the dinner during which GETAT presentations of Turkey and South Korea were made.
A total of 20 countries participated in the Congress at the official delegation level. Paraguay, Romania, Jordan, Mongolia, Somalia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Djibouti are represented by their respective Ministers of Health while Venezuela, Ukraine, Kosovo, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, South Korea, India, South Africa, China, Qatar, Chad, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia are represented by their respective Deputy Ministers of Health in GETAT 2019.
