Minister of Health, Dr Fahrettin Koca had separate phone calls with the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Alexey Tsoy, the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Dr Alishar Shadmanov, and the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Ogtay Shiraliyev. During the meetings, parties discussed cooperation in COVID-19 response efforts and the current situation in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Minister Koca emphasized that Turkey was ready to support its brotherly countries during the pandemic. He added that Turkey was available for cooperation and support, including sharing knowledge and experience.
Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, Alexey Tsoy underlined that Turkey's support had been invaluable and paid his respects for the people of Turkey.
Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Dr Alishar Shadmanov, and the Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, Ogtay Shiraliyev also thanked Turkey for its support. Minister Koca and Minister Shadmanov agreed to send a group of experts to Uzbekistan for knowledge and experience-sharing.
A Helping Hand From Turkey
By President Erdogan's instructions, the Minister of Health of Turkey is sending medical supplies to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to support them in their COVID-19 response efforts. Last week, the first batch of ventilators, drugs, hygiene materials, masks and gowns were sent to Azerbaijan. The donation for Kazakhstan arrived at the capital, Nur-Sultan yesterday. Donations for Kyrgyzstan will be in Bishkek tomorrow. In addition to the previous aid package for Uzbekistan, a new one will be sent in a few days.
