Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca, visited the victims of Sabiha Gokcen Airport plane accident. The Minister received information about the conditions of the injured.
Delivering a statement to press members following the visit, Koca said: "There are 84 injured people and 29 of them are being monitored in various departments and intensive care.
3 patients are receiving intensive care. Out of 29 patients, no one is in critical condition.
Today, I visited patients admitted to both Pendik Training and Research and Kartal Training and Resrarch hospitals. 180 people were treated following the tragic accident at Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Currently, 54 patients receive in-patient treatment and 12 receive critical care. I would like to emphasize that out of 54 patients, who are being monitored, no one is in critical condition."
"Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene in 9 minutes"
Minister Koca: "Our medical emergency teams rushed to the scene within the first 9 minutes. Within 45 minutes, 105 ambulances were at the scene. An intense effort has been exercised to refer patients to nearest hospitals. 3 people have lost their lives. I would like to thank the healthcare personnel for their tireless efforts. I would like to pay my condolences for the ones who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery for the injured. My condolences for the Turkish people."
Koca also added that medical conditions of the pilots of the plane that skidded off the runway were good.
