Vaccine Workshop of the Turkic Council's Health Committee was kicked off in Izmir with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Health of Turkey, Prof Emine Alp Meşe, the Secretary-General of the Council, Baghdad Amrayev, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ankara, Abzal Saparbekuli, and representatives and scientists from member states.
The workshop, which is held on the Quarantine Island in Izmir with the theme of "From Bedside to Bench", is attended by scientists, who are working on vaccine development.
Deputy Minister Meşe delivered a speech to open the workshop and said that the workshop was held to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and to contribute to global health. Birlikte üretilebilecek çok şey olduğunu vurgulayan Meşe, Çalıştay’ın, aynı tarihi mirasa sahip ülkeler arasında ortak çalışma kültürünün oluşturulmasına yönelik önemli bir adım olduğunu vurguladı.
The Secretary-General of the Turkic Council thanked Turkey for its hospitality and underlined the importance of health cooperation.
The 3-day workshop will offer a platform for scientists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey to exchange experiences. The participants will also be informed about vaccine development efforts in Turkey.
The Health Scientific Board chaired by Prof Emine Alp Meşe offers solutions to health-related problems together with scientists from member states. Through the Board, member states exchange experience and work on joint projects in the field of health.
