In his statement, Koca said, "Turkey's total number of healthcare workforce is 1.061.635. Of this figure, 165.363 are doctors and 204.969 are nurses. And the rest are medical and support staff. These people form a healthcare army that work day in and day out for you. Please have confidence in this army."
fact that Turkey was the most advantageous country in Europe in terms of intensive care capacity, Koca asked people to have confidence in Turkey's healthcare infrastructure.
Koca added, "Since December 31, 2019, when the coronavirus outbreak was first reported, Turkey has considered this a healthcare-related problem, about which science and scientists will have the final say. Have confidence in this strategy that separates this public health threat from others. Have confidence in the commitment of our healthcare army to defeating this disease."
"Keep social mobility at a minimum"
Pointing out that the virus had an upper hand in crowded areas, Koca warned,
"Keep social mobility at a minimum. Do not think that you are immune to this disease. Keep in mind that there may be undiagnosed people among you. Some may become aware of their illness after some time and some may not be aware at all. Only precautions will give us the edge over the disease."
Noting that everyone had to face the reality of coronavirus, Koca continued,
"The faster and better we adapt ourselves and our provinces, districts and villages to the rules of this fight, the faster we get results."
"2423 patients recovered"
Offering information about the course of the outbreak in Turkey, Koca said, "The total number of tests performed has increased to 307.210 today. Only today, we conducted 30.864 tests. We have 4747 new cases. With 98 people who died today, the total number of deaths has reached to 1006. With 281 today, the total number recovered cases increased to 2423."
Emphasizing that the increasing number of tests helped detecting cases earlier and strengthened mitigation efforts, Koca continued,
"To make sure that everyone has access to masks, we started distributing them free-of-charge. We will send you masks if you submit a request on the e-state platform."
