“Consultation Meeting on Fight against Drugs” was held by the Ministries of Health, Internal Affairs, Justice, Family, Labor and Social Services, Youth and Sports and National Education.
Hosted by the Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Süleyman Soylu, the meeting brought together Minister of Health Mr. Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdulhamit Gül, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Ms. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Deputy Minister of National Education Mr. Reha Denemeç and Chair of the Turkish Green Crescent Society Mr. Mücahit Öztürk.
During the meeting, each Ministry briefed about the activities undertaken to fight against drugs, the year 2018 was evaluated and 2019 was planned in terms of the activities to be launched. Fight against drugs was discussed under three titles: fighting with supply, training/prevention and therapy/rehabilitation.
Coordination to increase among Ministries
Participants of the meeting agreed on increasing coordination among Ministries for fighting against drugs, and sustainability of cooperation and consultation. The next meeting was also agreed to be hosted by Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca.
