Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca made a statement regarding the allegations on social media that a foreign person is working as a doctor in Türkiye.
Minister Koca stated:
“One of the conditions for practicing medicine in Türkiye is that the person in question is our citizen. The opposite is not possible. The allegations are false and far from responsibility. Those who claim on social media that a non-citizen person is practicing medicine in our country or make other similar claims are unaware of the legislation in force. On the other hand, the doctor whose name is cited and showed as a new basis for this old claim is also a Turkish citizen. The doctor in question graduated from Faculty of Medicine of Malatya İnönü University on July 13, 2021, and his diploma was registered on August 2, 2021. He took office on September 5, 2021 and completed his compulsory service. Türkiye does not employ even a single physician who is not a Turkish citizen.”
