The Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca visited the Pediatric Hospital of Ege University where children, who were rescued injured after the earthquake in Izmir, are being treated.
Minister Koca visited Izmir for a series of meetings and talked to the press after his visit to the injured being treated at Ege University Hospital.
The Minister said, "107 people died under the rubble while 7 died in hospitals. Right now, 36 people are receiving treatment and 999 people have been discharged. 7 patients are in intensive care and 5 of them are in critical condition."
Minister Koca also provided information about the patients he visited:
"I visited Ayda, she is in intensive care. She is in overall good condition and she will get out of intensive care soon. Elif is being treated in the ward with her sisters. She is also in good condition without any problems. I have also talked to the twins, Ezel and Elzem. I have visited them before in intensive care, both of them are in good condition."
Koca added that he also visited Idil, who was COVID-19 positive, and continued, "Idil and her mother are in good condition. They are receiving COVID-19 treatment without any major symptoms. As you know, Günay was in intensive care due to crush syndrome. He is in good condition and expected to be transferred to the ward in a couple of days."

Following his visit to the hospital, Minister Koca visited the Aşık Veysel Recreational Site and expressed his condolences to Özge, whose mother had died during the earthquake.
