Minister of Health, Dr. Fahrettin Koca, held a teleconference with provincial health directors of all 81 provinces. COVID-19 related efforts ongoing at the provincial level were discussed at the meeting.
Minister had a 2-hour meeting at the meeting hall of the Ministry's Bilkent campus with provincial health directors of 81 provinces.
Noting that they were going through an extraordinary period and were on alert in all 81 provinces, Koca continued: "We took extraordinary measures to prevent the entry of the virus into Turkey. The virus entered Turkey 90 days after the first case was reported. At the first stage, we took precautions to prevent its entry. Now, at this stage, we have to do our best to identify and treat cases and trace contacts."
"It is important to ensure the safety of our healthcare personnel"
Minister stressed the importance of healthcare professionals in the fight against the coronavirus and called upon provincial directors:
"Your responsibility is to ensure the safety of your personnel and make sure that they have the supplies they need. Thank you."
Koca also answered the questions of provincial health directors.
