The 42nd health week started in Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan in Uzbekistan. 15 Turkish doctors will provide health services, free of charge, for the locals of the region until 11th November.
The 42nd Health Week organized in Uzbekistan upon order of the Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca started with examinations in Nukus Children Hospital and Gynecology-Oncology Hospital. Examinations and operations will be performed in the specialties of plastic surgery and obstetrics and gynecology under the program conducted in cooperation with TIKA. There also will be provided practical trainings for the Uzbek healthcare professionals for exchange of experiences.
Official inauguration of the health week will be made with the participation of Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Tashkent Mr. Ahmet Başer.
Ministry of Health has so far organized health weeks in 16 countries on 3 continents. Within the scope of such programs, the Turkish doctors performed 22 thousands 812 consultations and 3 thousands 632 operations.
Health weeks enable formation of strong ties between the locals and healthcare professionals. These programs also enable promotion of the qualified manpower, medical tourism and medical equipment capacity of Turkey.
