Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca stated that every year an average of 2 thousand people die of brain death in Türkiye and added, “Those who have no choice but organ transplant for treatment are always on the verge of death. If you donate the organs of your brain-dead relative by making a decision as a family, you will ensure that he or she becomes a source of life.” On the occasion of November 3-9 Organ Donation Week, Minister Koca made the following statement in his social media account: “In our country, every year an average of 2 thousand people die of brain death. Those who have no choice but organ transplant for treatment are on the verge of death at any moment. If you donate the organs of your brain-dead relative by making the decision as a family, you will ensure that he/she becomes a source of life. You can save one, maybe more than one person from death even when you are no longer alive. The only way to do this is to become an organ donor. Make this decision.” “You can easily give up being an organ donor via e-pulse system. On the other hand, if you become a donor, you may save lives one day in the future.” Koca stated that detailed information about organ donation can be accessed from the Ministry's website http://saglik.gov.tr
