4 Turkish and 6 Somalian people injured at the bombing attack in Somalia were brought to Ankara by plane. Greeting the arriving injured persons, Dr. Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health, delivered a statement about the wounded.
A Turkish Armed Forces aircraft carrying 10 people injured in a car bomb attack in Somalia landed at Ankara Etimesgut Military Airport on Saturday, January 18.
In a statement, the Minister gave information to press members about the health conditions of Turkish and Somalian nationals.
Pointing out that Turkish Armed Forces' A400 aircraft was turned into an ambulance and sent to Somalia as per the instruction of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Koca said: "We brought in patients early in the morning to Turkey so that they can rapidly get treated. We were able to bring 10 out of 17 patients to Turkey. Of these 10 patients, 4 are Turkish citizens and 6 are Somalian citizens. One of the Turkish nationals remains in critical conditions and the remaining three are relatively better."
Minister Koca also made some remarks with regard to the health conditions of Somalian nationals:
"Of the 6 Somalian citizens, 4 are in critical condition. Ambulances are rapidly referring the injured to city hospitals."
"I would like to emphasize once again that we will be there for our citizens wherever they are in the world." said Mr. Koca and added: "I condemn this atrocious terrorist attack and convey my best wishes to the government and people of Somalia."
