The Minister of Health Dr. Fahrettin Koca had meeting with the health directors of 81 provinces with regard to the vaccination program.
Minister noted that the vaccination program, which was kicked off on Thursday, had reached 829 thousand people and thanked provincial health organizations and healthcare professionals working in vaccination efforts.
"We want to finish vaccinating healthcare workers by Wednesday. Because we need to act fast in line with the steps identified by the Scientific Committee."
Adding that healthcare workers who were unable to get vaccinated in the first phase would be able to receive a vaccine once all other phases were complete, Koca continued,"Starting from tomorrow, we want to kick off vaccination at elderly and disabled nursing homes. It is important that we have a strong organization in all provinces. Let's try to complete vaccination at these facilities by the weekend. Following on-site vaccination, the medical team should wait for an hour in case of any allergic reactions. We also want to start vaccinating those over 90 tomorrow. We need them to be vaccinated at home so that they do not need to go to a healthcare facility. Let's finish this phase by also next week."
Later on in the meeting, Minister Koca received information about the current situation from health directors.
