Born in Kayseri in 1969, Halim Özçevik completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Kayseri. After graduating from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1995, he completed his General Surgery specialization in Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 2004, and his Nuclear Medicine specialization in Istanbul Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in 2013. Between 1995 and 2016, he worked as a physician, specialist physician and assistant chief physician in public hospitals in Kayseri, Konya, Mardin and Istanbul. Since 2016, he has served as the Deputy Provincial Health Director, Head of Personnel Services and Head of Public Hospitals Services at the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate. Özçevik, who has been working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Health Sciences since 2021, has articles published in national and international refereed journals. While serving as the Director General for the Administrative Services at the Ministry of Health, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Health by the Presidential Decree No. 2024/231 dated July 26, 2024. He is married and has 2 children.
