Health Minister Fahrettin Koca went to Afyonkarahisar for groundbreaking ceremony of Sinanpaşa District Hospital.
Following his visit to Governor Mustafa Tutulmaz, Dr. Koca made a press statement.
“We target to provide equitable, well-quality and sustainable healthcare services for all our citizens. Within this framework, we will ensure health service delivery in Afyonkarahisar to the extent that it will not be required to refer the patients to any other cities.
After his speech, Dr. Koca attended the delivery ceremony of the five fully equipped ambulances granted to the Afyonkarahisar Provincial Health Directorate and handed over the key of the vehicles to the healthcare professionals. Health Minister then joined the groundbreaking ceremony of the 50-bed state hospital in Afyonkarahisar.
Health Minister talked about the important achievements in the Turkish health system. “Previously our citizens used to go to abroad to seek treatment, but now people come to Turkey for treatment and we have gained an important share in health tourism. We will especially develop thermal tourism in Afyonkarahisar and increase tourism incomes. We will make efforts to attain the desired level in the field of health tourism.”
Minister Koca also touched upon the importance of the city hospitals.
“We have made great progress in the field of health, and opened Bilkent City Hospital 2 days ago by our President. We want to crown our achievements in the field of health with city hospitals. With city hospitals, we target to make sure that patients will no longer be referred to the other hospitals for treatment. The city hospitals will also play an important role for health tourism. They are equipped with the advanced technology and qualified human resources” added Dr. Koca.
