Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca announced on his social media account that Dilek Özlü, a primary school teacher who has been dependent on an oxygen device for two years and has been waiting for a lung transplantation for 13 months, got a new life with organ donation.
The message published by Minister Koca on his Twitter account is as follows:
"The dream of Dilek Özlü, a primary school teacher who has been dependent on an oxygen device for two years and has been waiting for a lung transplantation for 13 months, came true and she got a new life with an organ donation on July 12. Our patient, whose surgery was performed at Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital, invites us to be more sensitive about the organ donation."
This announcement by the Minister of Health is considered as a step towards raising public awareness about the organ transplantation and drawing attention to the importance of organ donation.
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, who thanked Minister Koca on the subject, also asked for support about Religious Culture teacher Harun Çınar, who has been waiting for a transportation in Kartal.
