President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the mass opening ceremony of the completed projects in Malatya and addressed the citizens. At the ceremony, Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca also made a statement.

In his speech, President Erdoğan stated that Malatya is the home of the ancient civilizations of humanity, and that the investments of the ministries on the one hand and the investments of the metropolitan and district municipalities on the other hand have turned Malatya into an open-air construction site.

Expressing that they have invested 33 billion liras in Malatya in 20 years, President Erdoğan said: “We have built 5,236 new classrooms, higher education dormitory buildings with a capacity of 7,848 people, and 56 sports facilities. In social aid, we transferred a total of 4.5 billion liras to the citizens of Malatya.”

Reminding that they have built a total of 68 health facilities, 14 of which are hospitals, President Erdoğan noted that they have opened the 300-bed Battalgazi State Hospital and 100-bed Doğanşehir State Hospital and health investments in various districts.

In his speech, Minister of Health Dr. Fahrettin Koca pointed out that they are trying to offer new services to all citizens to make sure that investments serve human happiness.

“Today, we will further strengthen the health infrastructure of Malatya with 13 new health facilities that our President will inaugurate. One of our 13 facilities with a total cost of approximately 1 billion 142 million liras is the 300-bed Battalgazi State Hospital in our Battalgazi district with a population of 300 thousand. Built in two blocks, with its qualified staff, our Battalgazi State Hospital will alleviate the burden of Malatya Training and Research Hospital and Turgut Özal Medical Center. We also offer the Doğanyol District Integrated Hospital and the Arapgir Ali Özge State Hospital annex building to the service of our citizens with the 100-bed hospital we built in Doğanşehir. In addition, our primary health care facilities are put into service in Battalgazi, Doğanşehir, Pütürge, Yeşilyurt and Akçadağ districts. With the newly opened facilities, all districts of Malatya have gained health facilities that can meet the needs.”
