President Erdoğan attends opening ceremony of Etlik City Hospital


President Erdoğan attended opening ceremony of Etlik City Hospital, and toured the hospital in company of Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca.

Etlik City Hospital incorporates 8 hospitals with highly-advanced equipment, and it is one of the signs of the health revolutions in Türkiye. The hospital is built on a vast area of 1 million 145 thousand square meter with over 4-thousand bed capacity, 1 thousand clinics, 125 operation rooms, laboratories and research centers.

In his speech, President Erdoğan touched upon the White Reform launched in March, and how it contributed to solution of important problems in the health sector. Furthermore, “I have personally followed any and all phase of the city hospitals that were actually a dream of mine. I am very glad and proud to open an important output of this common dream of our nation today. There are still 13 projects under construction and 2 more in progress which will make the total number of city hospitals 35” added Erdoğan.

President Erdoğan also underlined important role of the city hospitals which helped Türkiye provide the highest possible health services throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, and reiterated the critical role of each work in construction of a big and great Türkiye.

Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca also underlined the “White Reform” and the important steps made within that framework. “We are at the service of our citizens, so is this new city hospital. The next step of the reform will focus on the health science and technologies. In this regard, we will intensify our efforts for better health infrastructure and self-reliant Türkiye in the area of health” added Dr. Koca.

“From this moment on, we will work to further improve scientific qualities and features of the city hospitals. Apart from providing health services, the city hospitals will become internationally recognized bases for health training and researches” said Dr. Koca.

Vice President Fuat Oktay, Head of High Court Mehmet Akarca, Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu also attended the opening ceremony.
