Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca went to Kazakhstan on occasion of the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit and met with his counterpart Yelzhan Birtanov. The two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Health Investments.

The two Ministers signed the MoU following the bilateral meeting in order to create a legal basis for the cooperation activities in the field of health investments between the two countries.

“Kazakhstan would like to construct hospitals on PPP model, and make use of our experiences in this area.

This area of cooperation has been put in writing with the MoU under which Kazakhstan plans to construct 9 hospitals. The projects of public private partnership model in Kazakhstan will be performed through International Health Services Inc. (USHAŞ).

We have agreed to construct a high-tech diagnosis center, which will be equipped with all innovative applications including tomography, Doppler and echo.”

Kazakhstan will allocate a land for the diagnosis center, and a working group will be created for this purpose. The diagnosis center will also provide medicines, supplies and medical devices. All technological infrastructure will be provided through USHAŞ, and it will offer health services free of charge.” said Dr. Koca in his press statement.
