President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the event held in Ahlat for the 952nd anniversary of the Manzikert Victory. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca also took part in the program.

Wishing the 952nd Anniversary of the Manzikert Victory to be auspicious, Erdoğan said, "Today, we once again remember the stories of the brave men who killed death with their courage and struggle. Those who want to understand us and get to know us should not go far, they should come here. Those who want to learn about the glorious history of the Turkish nation should visit Ahlat and Manzikert."

"Today we are in Ahlat. We will hopefully be in Manzikert tomorrow. We will celebrate 30th August Victory Day in Ankara. Then, as 85 million, we will experience the joy of reaching the 100th anniversary of our Republic on October 29. We will walk towards a more prosperous and stronger future by learning from the past. We are trying to make the best use of this year, which represents a very important milestone in our history."

Minister Koca used the following statements on his social media account:

“Today is the Anniversary of the 1071 Manzikert Victory and of the Great Offensive in 1922. Anatolia became our homeland with the Manzikert Victory and the whole world saw that Anatolia would remain an eternal homeland for us with the Great Offensive.

Together with our President, we commemorated the blessed victory and the blessed soldiers in the Manzikert plain. Happy 26th of August, one of the great days of our history.”
