Health Minister Dr. Fahrettin Koca welcomed the Eid al-adha in Hatay where he made examinations in hospitals and came together with citizens living in container and tent cities.
Dr. Koca said, “We are grieving because we lost a lot of lives. More than 50 thousand of our citizens died. “ Emphasizing that they will work even harder, Dr. Koca added, “The problems of Hatay are big. We initially aim to regulate the living conditions, as well as to build the new Hatay, by preserving its historical texture and cultural structure.”
Studies in the field of health in Hatay
Giving information about the developments in the field of health in the city, Minister Koca said:
“As you know in terms of health, we opened the Defne Hospital. It will be operational in the next 2-3 weeks with all its units. In addition, we will have the 200-bed hospital in Iskenderun ready for service in the next 2 or 3 weeks. In addition, the tender for the 600-bed hospital in Iskenderun was made 2 months ago and the site delivery was completed, and its construction began. Apart from this, the construction of the Hatay Training and Research Hospital in the Antakya region of Hatay continues rapidly.”
Expressing that Hatay's health problem of 30-40 years will be solved with the opening of hospitals, Dr. Koca said, "We will not leave Hatay alone. I especially try to pay close attention to Hatay. In the next period, this effort will continue intensely. Be sure that we will solve these big problems together in the next process. Our state is capable of solving these problems. Let us know that we have no problems that cannot be solved when our beloved nation is united.”
After visiting the Narlıca Cemetery, where those who lost their lives in the earthquakes are buried, Dr. Koca stated that this is a cemetery where the tragedy will be remembered for generations.
Furthermore, Minister Koca visited the earthquake victims in the Yakutiye Container City of Antakya. Celebrating the holiday by chatting with the citizens, Dr. Koca also gave gifts to the children.
Later, Dr. Koca visited the Tent City of the Credit and Hostels Institution and celebrated the citizens' holiday. In the last leg of the program, Dr. Koca visited Defne State Hospital and received information about the conditions of the patients who were treated, and celebrated the holidays of the health workers.
