The Minister of Health Dr. Fahrettin Koca visited the 112 European Command Center located in Bakırköy, Istanbul on new year's day. Following this visit, Minister Koca spoke with the parents of Isranur, one of the first babies of the new year.
Speaking to the healthcare workers at the 112 European Command Center through the radio, Minister Koca said, "I wish that the year 2021 will bring us peace, health and good fortune. The whole world wished to put an end to the pandemic, but could not in 2020. I hope 2021 will be the year for that. You have worked very hard and fulfilled your responsibilities in the utmost way. The nation is a witness to that. Together with your efforts, 2020 has been a momentous year for healthcare workers. 2020 was the year of healthcare workers. Upon our proposal, 2021 was accepted the year of health and care workers by the World Health organization."
Koca continued, "2021 will go down in history as the year of health and care workers. I am very well aware of your work and efforts. Many of you have been separated from your families, or parents. I hope that the pandemic will come to an end this year. I would like to wish you a healthy and happy new year. Thank you."
