Minister of Health, Dr Fahrettin Koca had a phone conversation with the Minister of Health of Lebanon, Dr Hamad Hasan with regard to the explosion in Beirut. Noting that he shared the pain of the brotherly Lebanese people, Minister Koca extended his condolences.
Minister Koca added that a plane would take off under the coordination of AFAD carrying medical and humanitarian aid supplies, as well as medication and supplies for the coronavirus pandemic. Pointing that a team of 20 specialists and surgeons would also be sent to Lebanon, Koca said that Turkey was ready to support Lebanon to the best of its abilities.
The Lebanese minister said that the people of Lebanon would overcome these trying times thanks to unity and solidarity and thanked the people and government of Turkey for their support.
