Turkish Health Institutions (TUSEB) affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Aselsan will establish a cooperation in the field of Health Biotechnology.

The first step has been taken with the protocol signed by Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Faik Eken, Girector-General of Aselsan and Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Keleştemur, President of TUSEB.

Underlining that defense industry has always shed light on the development of medical technology and many devices currently in use were developed by the defense industry, Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş added that “Within the framework of the protocol, experiences of Alsesan in the field of medical devices and laboratory kits and R&D studies of TUSEB will be combined. We will make cooperation for indigenization of the medical devices and health equipment and for domestic production of them. We hope to obtain fruitful results.”

On the other hand, Dr. Faik Eken said that “We are working very hard to make sure that technological knowledge in the field of defense industry is used for the needed areas. Ministry of Health provided guidance for us and we are concretizing this aim with this protocol.  We will work to produce target-specific solutions in the field of health.”

Welcoming the cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Aselsan, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Keleştemur stated that “We held meetings in order to benefit from the experiences and infrastructure of Aselsan and here we are. We will establish cooperation in the field of health biotechnology as needed by Turkey. We wish to obtain good results.”
