Information and communication technologies can increase the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of health services considerably, and ensures provision of such services in a standardized, measurable and comparable way. Researches have revealed the necessity of utilization of IT technologies in order to accelerate and improve health services, to do researches and closely monitor public health. Digitalization of patient data and diagnostic images, collection thereof in a joint database, the Tele-medicine system also known as remote provision of health services are some of practices enabled by the IT technologies. Health informatics and telemedicine practices are growing rapidly in line with the advancing technology.
The technical program to be followed under the Congress aims at exchange of studies and researches conducted in line with the abovementioned developments and the main theme has been specified as the Health Informatics and Telemedicine Practices. The major goals can be listed as follows:

  • Bringing together the researchers and practitioners working in the field of health informatics and ensuring discussion and exchange of the most update information thereby,
  • Further strengthening the cooperation between the information technology researchers and health researchers,
  • Contributing into the Health Information Network and sophistication of security thereof,
  • Conveying the researches and practices concerning the issue to the public

We do hope that this Congress shall make contribution into the debate over the health informatics and practices thereof, presentation of the newly-developed approaches, development of new practices, discussion of the health information network and security thereof, overcoming the possible problems and new researches and practices to be carried out in the field of “Health Informatics and Telemedicine Practices”.
