Hüseyin ÇELİK

Çelik was born in Karahacılı village of Afyon-Dinar in 1965. He completed his primary and secondary education in Isparta. He graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration in 1987.
He completed the master's program on Economic Structure of the European Community at İstanbul University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Economics, another master's program on Hospital and Health Facility Management at İstanbul University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, and the Specialized Public Administration Program at the Public Administration Institute for Turkey and Middle East.
He worked as a Deputy Inspector and Inspector at Social Insurance Institution between 1988 and 2000 and as a manager at Acıbadem Health Group in the 2000-2004 and 2007-2013 periods.
He was involved in the social security reform at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security from 2004 to 2007 and he contributed to the drafting of the Law on Social Insurance and Universal Health Insurance numbered 5510.
He was appointed as Deputy Undersecretary on 19.09.2013. His appointment became final by a decree published on the Official Gazette on 03.02.2015. Çelik is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Health Sciences University.
He published a book entitled Reimbursement Methods to Care Providers in Health Insurance (Nobel Tıp Kitabevleri, 2006.) and co-authored Financial Impacts of Data Protection and Enforcement in Drugs in Turkey (AİFD, July 2003) and complementary health Insurance (Association of Health Facilities and TSRSB, 2003). 

He was a member of the Health Expert Committee for the 8th, 9th and (Ministry of Development's) 10th Development Plans. He was involved in Kalder National Quality Award 2003 as a Public Category Assessor (2004) and drafting of the Law on Turkish Health Institutes Department and Law on Health Sciences University. 
Çelik holds the Best Private Hospital Manager Award (2008) by Hastane Magazine, Professional Manager of the Year Award (2013, Adana) by Referans Magazine and Best Public Administrator Award (2014) by Hospital Manager Magazine.
He is married and has two children. He speaks English.
